The MSc in Family Therapy offers a comprehensive clinical training, including extensive supervised work with families in both adult and child mental health settings. The course is accredited by the Association for Family Therapy. The Family Therapy course is designed for professionals working in mental health and social care settings who wish to advance their knowledge and skills in working with families, couples and wider systems. Those who are qualified as mental health nurses, GPs, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists are eligible to apply if they have significant prior clinical experience and have completed an Association for Family Therapy Accredited Intermediate Level training in Family Therapy/ Systemic Practice or equivalent. Graduates of the course are eligible for registration with the UK Council for Psychotherapy as Family and Systemic Psychotherapists and take up employment in NHS, Social care and Third Sector settings or practice independently.
