Our new master's programme will develop your skills and expertise to rehabilitate people after traumatic injury and provide exercise interventions for a range of health conditions including injuries sustained in the high-pressure environment of the army forces. We will expand on your existing healthcare experience using evidence-based practice to repair and build a healthy body and mind. You will develop your:

    ?

    clinical judgement skills

    ?

    rehabilitation techniques

    ?

understanding of prehabilitation and rehabilitation of health conditions

    ?

    research methods

    ?

intervention and assessment skills for a wide variety of health conditions

This programme offers a unique progression route for students from a variety of backgrounds within the field of exercise rehabilitation to study.

You’ll conduct research at the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), a new 70 bed NHS rehabilitation facilitythat's currently being built near Loughborough as well as at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) and at Stamford Hall, to provide you with specialist experience within a military setting. You will also be taught at the Queens Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham, one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK.

This degree is ideal if you have a background in sport rehabilitation, clinical exercise physiology, sports therapy, sport and exercise science or physiotherapy. You’ll also be suited to this course if you have substantial professional experience in exercise prescription for injury and want to specialise in exercise remedial instruction.
