Do you want to understand the role of exercise and nutrition in health and wellbeing? Develop the skills and experience to help people live healthier lifestyles with our Exercise, Health and Nutrition degree.Population weight levels, eating and exercise habits are constantly changing. As they do, the health implications are becoming ever more apparent. You’ll study the role that exercise and nutrition play in the maintenance of good health and the prevention of disease. You’ll get a thorough theoretical grounding in the way exercise and nutrition influence health – positively and negatively – as well as developing the practical skills to improve people’s exercise habits and nutrition. We’ll explore anatomy and physiology of the body alongside the psychology and sociology of exercise and health behaviours. You’ll gain the confidence to effectively communicate and promote health issues. Putting theory into practice, you’ll complete professional work placements as part of your degree and you’ll have the opportunity to study abroad at one of our international partner universities.**Professional placements**Students have completed placements at local authority health and wellbeing services, primary and secondary schools, Human Kinetics publishers and in gyms working alongside personal trainers. Placements can also be completed abroad – recent students have worked on projects with international charities in countries including Rwanda and Cameroon.**Career opportunities**You’ll have the opportunity to graduate with the experience and knowledge for a range of careers in public health, health promotion in the NHS or local authorities, and roles in the sport, fitness and leisure industries that focus on nutrition and weight management. A strength of this degree is its diversity – graduates are employed in roles across each of the three areas, e.g, as exercise referral specialists, in health promotion, and as nutrition advisors.
