Environmental Science with a placement year - MEnv

University of York

One of the main advantages of the University of York is its wide range of courses. Here everyone will find a suitable direction for themselves. Another important aspect is a big range of student communities. Students are very active in sports, art, music and many other areas. All these communities are available to anyone who wants to try something new. I would like to draw special attention to the high level of teaching. Each student has full support from teachers who are always ready to help. Among the disadvantages, I can highlight the difficulties in the schedule. Lectures are not always conveniently spaced throughout the day and can sometimes have more than 2 hours of free time between them, which is inconvenient for students living far from the university.

Great location and lovely environment to be in whilst studying and walking to and from campus. Sports is lacking in funding and facilities as well as resources.

The University of York is the best place to study because it is a very supportive institution, from career support to mental health support. The curriculum is top-notch, and the lectures, workshops, and seminars are engaging. One aspect that could be improved is how the local students interact with international students. Although the local students are nice and welcoming, they tend to segregate when it comes to classwork. They do not mingle easily with international students while in class.

The environment of the campus is stunning - the wildlife really makes a difference However I feel the building could be updated to have a more modern feel and not just have rooms with fold away chairs or tables: Computers on laps arent the best!

The environment is conducive for learning but also encapsulates a sense of belonging and is surrounded by lovely green spaces. The staff are very proficient in their fields and continuously carrying out research of their own making the real time experience very insightful
