Our Enhanced Clinical Practice (Pelvic Health) PgCert is designed to help you progress into advanced roles, giving you the confidence to assess, diagnose, and manage patients across diverse and complex populations. Course Content
Throughout this programme, you'll build the essential clinical knowledge, leadership capability, and educational confidence to develop as a capable and reflective enhanced practitioner in pelvic health.
A central focus is on clinical practice, where you'll gain a deep understanding of theories and methods relevant to specialist care. You'll learn to apply this knowledge in assessment, diagnosis, and management across diverse populations, including those with complex conditions. The programme emphasises professional judgment, autonomy, and safe, effective care, while also developing your skills in research, audit, and critical appraisal to support evidence-based decision-making and service improvement.
You'll learn how to carry out comprehensive pelvic health assessments, including vaginal and anorectal examinations, delivered within legal, ethical, and consent frameworks. The course equips you to assess and manage a wide range of nonmechanical pelvic floor dysfunctions, including multi-system presentations such as pelvic pain, incontinence, prolapse, and conditions like endometriosis. You'll develop an advanced understanding of pelvic anatomy, pathophysiology, and the psychosocial dimensions of care, applying this knowledge through holistic, person-centred clinical reasoning.
Hold a pre-registration degree in a relevant allied health profession and 1 year clinical work experience within your registered healthcare profession.
