Explore and unpack a wide range of critical perspectives as you hone your creative skillset and learn to communicate your ideas. Your study will be guided by a team of published authors, including award-winning poets, novelists and writers for stage and screen. Choose from a huge selection of optional modules across our Creative Writing and English departments, allowing you to create a degree that suits your interests. Learn the practise behind writing prose, poetry, dramas and non-fiction and combine your practise with the literary theories behind these formats. Explore a range of genres (think fantasy, children's literature, sci fi, horror and more) and time periods from the medieval to the contemporary. You’ll be assessed in different ways to suit each module. At the start of a module, you’ll be told how and when you’ll be assessed. Methods will vary but may include coursework (e.g., essays), group or individual presentations and projects, exams, reports or computer-based assignments.
