English language at Northumbria is a fascinating and adaptable subject that opens up a range of career choices.You’ll study a range of core modules in the areas of English grammar, discourse analysis, language ; psychology of language, sociolinguistics, and history and varieties of English. There is also a wide selection of option modules so you can focus on the areas that interest you most.One such area is the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Depending on the number of TESOL-related modules you take, it’s possible to graduate with the degree award of ‘BA English Language Studies with TESOL’, which will give you additional employability.
