It's a very interactive uni, and I love that the campus is spread across town. Students and non-students never feel segregated from each other. However, I feel it detracts from the uni's character a little. Most of the buildings are blocky and ugly and feel more like attending college or an after-school class than university.

Lecturers are knowledgeable and approachable. The students are down-to-earth and easy to befriend. They offer an amazing mental health support service, notably the chaplaincy is very caring and supportive. The library and website are top quality and resourceful. Portsmouth is an inclusive, diverse, busy city with endless things to do everyday and night of the week. Living by the sea is incredible and life-changing.

Teachers try to be accommodating but it isn't helped when not given the right tools. You can only help so much but if the uni doesn't deem opening doors as an important issue when a wheelchair user cannot get into the class unless a stranger opens the door for them then it isn't feasible. not maintaining lifts when they are vital. and not giving a suitable arrangement for when the halls lift is out. (the cleaners can help get and take rubbish downstairs. but how to contact them? can I have help getting my shopping in? what about taking my laundry down? can I have help getting my bow up and down from my car? can they go fetch my phone I've accidentally left in my car? can someone push me to my car when my arms feel like lead? no. there's what 2 of them and an entire floor of disabled students and then they have the added job of collecting all the rubbish from the higher floors also. the lift is vital.) Funding so that wheelchair users can also access sports. More understanding that disabled people have needs. If it gets too cold in our rooms we can't just go and camp out in the library like the average student. All our care, food needs, and accessibility requirements are in our rooms and kitchens. When it's too cold, I cannot function, let alone get myself to the library. If I managed to get there, there'd be no food I could eat, no chairs I could sit on for more than an hour, I wouldn't be able to stim out loud or fit in a pod. So not just upkeep of facilities is needed but reassessment. One small covered radiator is not adequate for the size of the accessible rooms. Re-evaluation of the rooms' needs is required rather than complaining that when it is cold the disabled rooms hog the emergency oil radiators "just because its cold" rather than being able to use them "for real emergencies". Emails, texts and even phone calls (depending on the student's needs) need to be had when a change to the timetable is made. I have missed half of lessons or not turned up to lessons at all because of on-the-day timetable changes sent in one email that gets lost in all the other emails that come through from the uni. Sending emails at times when the student is more than likely already travelling to that class isn't fair. There are at least 3 of us that could be travelling from accommodation outside of the immediate area. so changing the time last minute isn't good, Clearer parking instructions. with longer parking times. If parking is 8 till 6 but classes finish and can run over 6pm leaves no room. We haven't learnt to teleport yet. Do we learn that in 3rd year?? Why can we not use these spaces on the weekend when we need to use the facilities? I live in harry law. There is only two disabled bays. There is nowhere for carers to park.

Best: By the sea but also a city with loads of things to do. Everything is also really close but not a student village. Worst: No student bar and the price or everything is not great. The union seem too 'corporate' for student life. It makes them seem removed or detached from the rest of the university and other students.

I've had a REALLY good experience with the university's support team especially; the Student Life team have been really helpful in providing me with the advice and support I needed to settle in at university and manage myself. The 24-hour-accessible library is also really helpful!

All are very helpful in our University. Teachers are always gives us advice how to do better in our assignment. Overall, I'm very happy to be a student of University of Portsmouth.
