Staff are incredible. The uni leans into their unique personalities and teaching styles very well and it pays off in how creative freedom makes us more confident in our English course. Student support services are amazing, and have been a huge help for people like me. The care leavers branch of student support is brilliant, having someone who helps me with all the difficulties of being an adult after leaving foster care launched me out into the adult world's nonsense. The worst part is hard to really say because it's still very good for it's kind. But the accomodation facilities can be quite easy to break, such as the ovens and chairs. Even then, the spaces for the most expensive accomodations are spacious ensuites with a proper working environment; as someone who gets extra money from the council, it is amazing to know all the best rooms are still below the benefits rate used to calculate whether university rent is paid for by the council. The only real thing I can say that is 100% bad is that the whole campus is built like a maze. Because of how I process information, finding new rooms on the map is often no help. Even with signposting, it's not precise enough to help me get around more than just a handful of regular classrooms.

One significant drawback that many students and visitors frequently encounter is the limited availability of parking spaces. The university's parking facilities are notably insufficient given the large number of students and staff. Arriving early is almost a necessity if you wish to secure a spot, as the demand far exceeds the supply. Unfortunately, even with early arrival, finding a spot is often a matter of luck, leading to endless circling around the car parking areas. Moreover, the cost of parking is another concern. The fees are relatively high, which adds an extra burden on students who are already managing tight budgets. For those who fail to find a space on campus, the alternatives aren't particularly convenient or ideal. One option in the station car park, which is about a 25 - minute walk from the university. While this is a viable solution for some, it can be impractical, especially during inclement weather or for those with heavy bags or equipment. Another alternative is parking at the rugby club across the road. However, this comes with its own set of challenges. The area is riddled with potholes, making it less than ideal for vehicles. Additionally, its location on a corner and within a blind spot makes pulling out onto the road a nerve - wracking experience, particularly during busy periods. While LTU excels in providing quality education and a supportive community, the parking situation is a significant downside. For those considering driving to campus regularly, it is important to factor in the potential difficulties and costs associated with campus parking. The university could greatly enhance the student and visitor experience by addressing these parking issues, whether through expanding the current facilities or exploring alternative solutions.

The only thing that’s difficult is how far away it is from city centre, it’s a nice location but it would be more ideal if we could go into town to shop and look around. But I love how much support we receive from staff, most of them are so enthusiastic in helping us if needed.

Really nice campus with lots of plants and flowers. Professors are all really helpful. Would be better if there were more societies
