The best aspect is the great location to the city centre and the strength of the degrees on offer. The facilities are very good for engineering. It’s not your traditional Uni however and feels more modern.

My first year was mostly online because of COVID which made it a very lonely experience. The second year has improved greatly being on campus! Most of my modules have been organized in an engaging well structured way, however, a couple of modules have felt extremely rushed during lectures cramming a lot of content into the hour, which is often confusing when looking back over notes as knowledge on specific subjects covered often doesn't go into the dept expected. Best aspect of uni for me is definitely being able to be on campus this year and the union is a great place, they always have so many events and cheap drink promotions running. The worst aspect is how some modules are organized, a lot of the time in laboratory sessions (particularly coding) there is not much guidance, which can be confusing when you are using a new concept you have only just been taught about. A lot of the lectures as well as lack in worked examples or the worked examples done in lectures are relatively easy and then the questions given on tutorials are much much harder to the point where you can be clueless about a few of the questions. Another bad aspect is there isn't much seating in the main areas during lunchtime, in particular, the union and library.

It's a brilliant place for learning and socialising. It has a wide range of different courses applicable to many different subjects and fields of learning all culminating in a truly fantastic place to achieve the best of your abilities. It allows you to explore a wide range of opportunities through their vast number of societies and get to know a wide range of people that can support you through you university life all building a unique experience. There is nothing major that I would say is a glaring issue with the university as my time spent there has been an amazing experience shaping me up for future careers.

Not had any bad experiences so far. Overall a great University, lecturers give good support to each student, the facilities are great too.

Living in the city centre of Glasgow is a unique opportunity to be placed in the heart of Scotlands largest city. Experiencing the thrill of big city life paired with the warm welcoming attitude of the Scottish residents is a must! Strathclyde has a mix of beautiful old, historical buildings which make you feel part of its history - and new innovative facilities which keep the university up to date. The union, provides a unique opportunity to socialise right inside the centre of the city and the campus and provides a balance of study and fun. Being a student with disabilities, I know first hand the effort and support which the university is ready, willing and capable of providing. While my degree is hard, and at times it rules my life I would not change one thing about my university experience. Where I am, what I am studying and learnt. But most importantly the people I have met. For that, I will forever be in Strathclyde's debt. The main improvement would be to expand the study space. Luckily for me I have lived in the centre and not relied on the study space much. However the university attracts a lot of “home” students due to its fantastic public transport opportunities, and these students oftentimes rely on staying within the campus all day. The food within the union is really nothing special either for an unreasonable price. They are really missing out on a monopoly opportunity!
