Learn the latest theoretical, hardware and software skills to pursue a professional career as an electrical and electronic engineer. Our course gives you a broad and flexible education in electrical and electronic engineering. The range of engineering units lets you tailor your degree to your interests to support your future career choices.From your first day, you’ll study the principles of electrical and electronic engineering, as well as explore new engineering techniques. This allows you to grow your technical knowledge and gives you the skills and understanding of current challenges relevant to the workplace. These include areas such as engineering processes, professional practice, ethics, and sustainability. You’ll also gain insight in current professional engineering practices by learning about the practical technologies used in industry.The first two years of our four Electrical and Electronic Engineering courses are the same to give you a comprehensive grounding in the subject. It also gives you the option to switch between the BEng and MEng degree and decide whether you want to take a professional placement year or not up until the end of your second year.Project work further develops your professional skills in teamwork, project management and self-management. It also allows you to flex your creativity and apply what you have learnt in a practical way. You'll combine creative approaches, innovation and your knowledge of engineering to solve problems on topics such as virtual reality tracking systems, medical sensors or next-generation LEDs.
