The Department of Engineering actively works with professional engineering institutions and encourages its students to engage with them. Our BEng (Hons) and BSc (Hons) courses are accredited by institutions affiliated to the UK Engineering Council.The foundation year provides a route onto an engineering degree if you don't have the qualifications or have not studied advanced level subjects sufficiently related to your course of choice.After successful completion of the foundation year in engineering, you can progress on to one of the relevant BEng (Hons) / BSc (Hons) degrees.Whichever route you take, you’ll have the skills and understanding you need to get started on your engineering career.


FEATURES AND BENEFITS

- Provides a route onto your chosen degree course if you don't currently meet the entry requirements.- Foundation years are designed to make undergraduate degrees more accessible to those who are under-represented in higher education, for example, those with non-traditional qualifications.- Has content that is tailored so that it is appropriate to your chosen degree.- Helps you to develop the study skills and academic knowledge you will need to start Year 1 of your course with confidence.- You will be eligible to apply for student finance in the same way as other undergraduates.- We are investing £115m to transform the way we teach and you learn in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Our new Dalton building will enhance collaboration between students, staff and industry, and provide new and improved teaching spaces.
