Study in Sheffield for the first two years of your course where you will cover the theoretical and practical aspects across the range of electrical and electronic engineering. In your third year you have the opportunity to put into practice what you have learnt by working for a year in an engineering company before returning to Sheffield for your final year of study.Learn about the design, fabrication and use of a wide range of electronics, circuits, devices and power systems.You'll explore theoretical and practical aspects across the range of electronic and electrical engineering, and use computer design tools extensively.We offer a wide choice of optional modules – these cover many aspects of electrical and electronic engineering and communications.All our first-year students take part in the faculty's Global Engineering Challenge, working with students from other engineering disciplines to solve a real-world problem. All second years get to work on a week-long project devised by one of our industry partners. You'll also get the chance to work with an engineering company through the Sheffield Industrial Project Scheme.At the end of your second year you can choose an area to specialise in or continue with the more general electrical and electronic engineering, which is our most popular course.
