Electrical and Electronic Engineering - BEng (Hons)

Northumbria University, Newcastle

Studying at Northumbria University has been a good experience overall. The campus is modern, with great facilities like the library and study spaces. Most lecturers are helpful and supportive, and the courses feel practical and career-focused. The university also provides useful career support and opportunities for placements. The student environment is friendly, and Newcastle is an affordable and welcoming city for students. However, feedback on assignments can sometimes be slow, and study spaces can get busy during peak times. Overall, it’s a great place to study with a good balance of academics and student life.

It is in the centre of the city, the student teacher relation is very friendly, you can be informal and casual at times with them, something that's not true for other unis. This helps in getting genuine mentorship and advice that they would hesitate in giving otherwise, plus it makes the overall student experience fun and engaging.

Diversity and different opportunities that they offer (academic and personal) is one of the key features of this university.

Newcastle has been a very hospitable city. The university is very inclusive and welcoming towards people of diverse background. The staff-student relation, makes it feel like that you are not just there for higher education, but to learn about life itself. Links with industry are highly respected. Labs available for engineering are both innovative and sparks curiosity. The interdisciplinary collaboration, that Northumbria Engineering society makes possible, provides exposure to scholars of other background. The competitive environment environment of the university brings the best out of all of us.

My univeristy experience has been very positive overall and I have really enjoyed my time here. The staff and students here have been some of the best aspects of studying at northumbria
