The MA offers students the opportunity to extend and deepen their understanding of concepts, theories and issues related to international development, education and sustainable ways of promoting health, wellbeing and social justice. The MA Education, Health Promotion and International Development programme offers you the opportunity to extend and deepen your understanding of concepts, theories and issues related to international development, education and sustainable ways of promoting health, wellbeing and social justice. You will explore and critique educational leadership and management theory, research and practice and be encouraged to identify and extend your personal leadership capabilities in the education sector. There is also a close focus on how you can improve the quality of learning and teaching for the student body you will be serving as an educational leader.This master’s degree will enable you to:identify key concepts and issues in education, health promotion and international developmentdevelop the knowledge and skills to write project proposals and plans to implement and evaluate health promotion initiativesreflect on research, analysis, policy and practice in relation to education and health promotion in low- and middle-income countriescritically review arguments, advance analysis and undertake research on education, international development and the promotion of health and wellbeing.
A minimum of a second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university or overseas qualification is required. Applicants must have two years' leadership experience in an educational setting, including experience of leading other educators. This commonly will be in a school, university or childcare setting, but applicants will be accepted from a wide range of educational institutions, organisations and occupations, such as: leaders and managers in schools and colleges; educational consultants or those who work for national or regional government in a planning, development or inspection role.
