This joint honours degree combines two highly desirable areas of study. Throughout the course, you will engage with urgent and key issues facing contemporary societies, with a particular focus on matters of social division, social inequality and identity. Our blog post 'What is Sociology' highlights the exciting and original research done by our students. You'll be encouraged to pursue original thought and ideas, with the seminar room providing opportunities for sustained discussion and debate. You'll have fantastic opportunities to explore education across a wide range of contexts, from primary schools to forest schools, from the UK to Africa, and chances to take up work experience, study abroad at a partner university and to participate in volunteering activities.Upon completion of this degree, students can go into teacher training for work in Primary schools.
