Newcastle University

Its an excellent city for students with great facilities and student life. For me personally I find the Business School to be a little detached from the rest of the University both geographically and in a personal sense.

I love the city of newcastle, I think it is an incredible student city and I wouldn’t rather have gone anywhere else. One negative is that the business school isn’t on main campus so it is an extra walk, but it’s still only 10 mins from the nearest metro station and close to the city centre.

As a student, the best part of my university experience has been the vibrant campus community. The diversity of students and the various cultural events create a dynamic atmosphere. Engaging professors who are passionate about their subjects have made learning exciting and enriching. Additionally, the university's commitment to providing real-world experiences through internships and research opportunities has been invaluable for my personal and professional development. One downside to my university experience has been the Student Union's lack of vibrant nightlife options. While there are some events, the overall social scene could be more lively and diverse. It sometimes feels limited, and students often find themselves seeking entertainment outside of the campus. Enhancing the variety of activities and events organized by the Student Union would significantly contribute to a more fulfilling and enjoyable university experience.

New facilities which are regularly invested in. The city of Newcastle is very welcoming to students, easily accessible, and affordable. Student support could be improved as although there are schemes, such as the Peer Mentor Scheme, they are more of a token than meaningful efforts at Student support. Some staff have no time or want to help students, and refuse to give their office hours.

Great facilities multiple libraries and different types of study spaces. Location is great in the middle of the city so right in the center of it all. Lots of coffee shops and greggs if the uni food / study spaces isn’t what you fancy. Student support is good when you ask for it but you must ask for it. Campus is great has red brick feel however business school is really far away (like 15 min walk) so can feel a bit isolating when all your friends are on main campus. Student life is the best. Loads of societies to chose from and being in Newcastle the night life is insane. Plenty of pubs too if clubbing is not your vibe. Haven’t used the student union much so can’t really say but don’t think it’s the best. A good SU isn’t as necessary in Newcastle as it is in other unis as the city has so much to offer
