Career paths
The MSc equips students with theoretical grounding and applied skills for professional economists, opening a wide range of economics careers through the three Pathways:
Big Data and Quantitative Analysis for careers in government departments, financial institutions and consultancies as economic forecaster, quant analyst, risk analyst.
Competition and Public Policy for careers in consultancies, regulatory agencies, economic research institutes and think tanks, government departments.
Macroeconomic Outcomes and Financial Markets for careers in central banks, commercial and investment banks, financial institutions, and consultancies.
Degree requirements – You need a 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in any subject, provided the degree contains substantial levels of study of Mathematics and Statistics. While many students will have an Economics-related degree, we welcome candidates with other backgrounds, especially in Mathematics, Engineering or Sciences.
