This degree is for you if you are interested in developing the analytical tools and institutional knowledge required to work as a financial economist.
With Academic direction from the globally renowned London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) this degree enables students of various backgrounds to earn a world-class degree without relocating. It is available to study independently online or through a Recognised Teaching Centre.
By studying this programme, you will:
gain the economic reasoning, quantitative skills and institutional knowledge required to solve practical problems arising in finance.
develop the analytical tools and institutional knowledge required to work as a financial economist.
Assessment
Each module is assessed by an unseen written exam, which is usually held in May or June. You can sit your exams at any approved centre around the world. These centres charge a fee for hosting the exams.
Your exam is set and assessed by academics at LSE, ensuring that your degree is of the same standard as those studying on-campus in London.
If you study the following courses from the Information System selection group, you will also need to undertake a project or coursework.
Career opportunities
This degree will prepare you for a career as a financial economist whether in academia, finance (investment or commercial banking, risk management, research, fund management, or securities trading) or government. You could also gain entry to a master’s programme in this field.
