Edge Hill University is close to the Lancashire town of Ormskirk, near to Liverpool and Manchester. The institution has been providing higher education since 1885, with a mission to create opportunity from knowledge. Most full-time students are based on the attractive, award-winning 160-acre campus in Ormskirk. Since its inception as the first non-denominational teacher-training college for women, the University has grown and diversified. Students now join a vibrant community of almost 10,000 full-time undergraduate students, another 3,000 part-time undergraduate students and a further 5,000 full and part-time postgraduate students. Edge Hill achieved Gold, the highest rating in the national Teaching Excellence Framework, in 2017 for ‘consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students.
