My university experience so far has been an overwhelmingly positive one. I love the university, the course and Sheffield as a city. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asked.

I apparently have always had too high expectations so I not 100% impressed, I no longer necessarily want to do the job I am training for but that most likely is not the university's fault.

I have loved uni and Sheffield as a city, great night life, supportive lecturers, great placements and lots of opportunities for travelling and working abroad.

Wouldn't choose a different university even though i got conditional offers from 4 others and i chose to stay in my home city and attend Sheffield Hallam University

The uni is great for learning. Not only is it an amazing and social city, but the teaching at SHU makes it enjoyable for all students. It's not hard to meet people when in Sheffield as theres so many local places where students meet up. The Uni is nice and modern and is relaxing to learn in. Overall, I recommend SHU!

To be honest I wasn’t expecting university to be off to a great start considering the pandemic, but Hallam could not have dealt with it better. Our lecturers, the union’s help and the overall student community really helped to turn the isolated feelings into hopeful ones. The facilities, for my course and others, are great, with the majority of my lecturers being ex-teachers, they bring in the expertise and criticisms that help with building assignments and understanding of the material. Considering the societies, as activities for wellbeing and socialising, are also amazing. I’m part of 3 and it really widens your social groups as well as your willingness to take part in very juxtaposing sports, or obscure clubs that a school would never offer.
