What makes Lancaster University a great place to study? Lancaster University provides high-quality teaching, strong research support, and a supportive academic culture. The collegiate system creates a strong sense of community, and excellent library and digital resources enhance learning and research. How could it be improved? Administrative processes could be more streamlined, particularly for part-time and international students. Greater flexibility in accessing services and improved communication across departments would further enhance the student experience.

I think general support and wellbeing is good but is bigged up more than it reflects, it can be hard to access and takes time to hear back from the team however the nightline system is very good and a great concept. The campus has a community feel and the layout works well, however some areas (such as bowland and the Cartmel/Londsdale area) look a little dated or 'samey samey' - this isnt a big problem at all and the facilities in both these places are very good!! The buildings are all well built and have a nice interior, I personally wish the Library had a slightly cozier area (less bright lights, more comfy seating and more of a warm feeling) as it can sometimes feel slightly stark, but it is good to work in. The nightlife isn't spectacular but a good night out can definitly be achieved and the Uni makes a strong effort in organising events and societies which keeps you busy if thats what you like. Overall, I love studying here.

I love the campus, there is so much nature and walks to go on when having breaks from study. This allows for a refresh. There are so many people you can talk to from friends, college presidents, academic tutors etc - you never feel alone. There is also so many places to study, whatever suits you best; there’s even outside pods. The social life is great, there’s 8 bars on campus and then the bus journey into town is simple where there’s even more to do. Loads of places to eat, walk, sit down etc - i’m never bored. The university provides loads of social clubs, I’m doing netball and there’s a social each week plus training and a game each week. The college pulls everyone together with things such as winter ball, freshers week. There is nothing I can think of to improve the university.

Very supportive staff and faculty. Nothing that I do not see as bad except that library is always very busy and I wished it was bigger to accommodate more students.

Lancaster has a friendly and supportive environment. One thing I really like is how green the campus is. The city itself is pretty and has a lot of history, but don't expect a lot to do for young people. Although there are a good few bars, few is the operative word. The staff are understanding and the library is a great place to work. There are a lot of initiatives to help students with their mental health or finances. There are also a wide selection of scholarships and bursaries available.
