University of Exeter

The university of Exeter is such an inclusive environment where you always feel involved. There are so many social things to do, removing home sickness and making the time much more enjoyable. Everyone is super friendly and staff are always happy to help, supporting people quickly and efficiently. Exeter is such a pretty campus, and despite the immense amount of hills, very well placed. The walk around campus is full of beautiful scenes and this is further enhanced by the town. The town itself is bubbly and lively, with brilliant night-life, but additionally amazing restaurants and shops. The town is open late at night so that you can shop after lectures finish which is brilliant as a student. My course is amazing, with fabulous lectures/professors, enhancing my knowledge. I find the drama side fun and interactive, meanwhile the English side more academically focused. Whilst drama isn’t for everyone, being out of my comfort zone with people who share the same passions is refreshing, and the teachers are warm and welcoming, making the first few stages of ‘embarrassment’ feel like a breeze. Exeter is an amazing university and I would not change anything for it.

Exeter has a stunning campus in a lovely small city and it is only half an hour on the train to the beach so living here is great. Everything is walking distance so the only downside is the hills you have to walk up to get around the campus.

It is a beautiful campus and enjoyable to walk around and live on. It is more difficult to get accommodation in town post first year. The societies are fantastic at this University and they run great events but there are limited venues in town so it is similar week on week. There are lots of job opportunities at the University. I really enjoyed my course, I had fun. There are services there for support if you need them, you just may have to wait. I was a volunteer mentor and helped students as a result of this.

University at Exeter has been great. My experience in halls during first year was fun and private housing in 2nd and 3rd year was close to town and campus. My course is a mixture of theory and practicals, which is a really nice balance. Exeter has a great vibe.

Best three years of my life. I grew so much as a person and I’m so much happier in myself now. The university, the people I met and the staff all facilitated this.
