Build your practice, become a veterinary leader, or explore your entrepreneurial passion.
St. George’s University helps veterinary students gain the business skills they need to make their practices thrive with a uniquely focused DVM/MBA dual-degree program that includes an MBA in Multi-Sector Health Management.
Veterinarians must learn new skills in animal care throughout their careers while managing staff, assessing financial performance, marketing their practice, and addressing information technology needs.
An MBA in Multi-Sector Health Management is a 14-month, 34-credit program that can help improve your business skills while promoting an understanding of the complexities of operating a veterinary practice.
To earn an MBA graduate degree in tandem with the DVM degree, you’ll experience a mix of blended learning options. Our MBA courses are taught primarily online, with short residencies at our Caribbean campus in Grenada.
PROGRAM OUTLINE
Students enrolled in a dual degree program will complete the DVM degree requirements simultaneously with the MSc requirements, requiring spending the first two summers of the four-year veterinary medical program in Grenada in order to meet the coursework requirements for the MSc program.
The MSc requires completion of 34 graduate credits as prescribed by the program. Under the supervision of an academic advisor and a supervisory committee, students prepare a research project proposal. Once approved, an ongoing research experience is conducted throughout the period of enrollment in the degree program. The program culminates with a final comprehensive oral examination and defense of the thesis.
The major selected determines the research area and graduate coursework requirements for the completion of the program.
