Overview
Marketing is constantly evolving – with social media, new retail channels and disruptive technologies all playing major roles in its development, offering opportunities and risks in equal measure. Step into this world, and explore how to manage marketing within it, with our Digital Marketing Management MSc.
Covering the broad range of digital marketing, this course allows you the opportunity to explore how digital marketing strategies are produced, how digital marketing is measured and optimised, and how you can lead in the industry, through modules focused on how to manage global teams and oversee the entire digital marketing process. Coupled with the chance to study in our DigiComm Lab (subject to availability), a space designed for marketing students where you have the opportunity to get hands-on experience of the latest technology, our course is designed to help prepare you for a potential future career harnessing the power of digital marketing, upon successful completion.
By exploring the theoretical knowledge, skills and personal attributes which may help you in the future to become a leader in the digital marketing industry, you should, on successful completion, know how to become an adaptable and proactive digital marketing professional. We also endeavour to make sure you are up to date with latest digital marketing knowledge, and the course has a specific module dedicated to the disruptive technology that is shaping the future of marketing.
Career prospects
Embedded employability is a key focus for this course with a range of initiatives for you to have the opportunity to demonstrate applied learning and continued professional development, including the use of authentic assessments.
Upon successful completion, you should also be prepared for any potential future career in digital marketing, with course content covering the practicalities of managing digital campaigns, through to the skills needed to lead teams and harness disruptive technology to drive business growth.
You will have the opportunity to study a final project based on either a research-based project or an industry-based consultancy project. This should provide you with flexibility to develop different pathways for future employability or further study. Internships as part of the Project module are subject to availability and a competitive application and selection process, meeting any applicable visa requirements, and additional fees may apply. This also applies to further study opportunities.
You will have the support of dedicated employment staff, who are industry trained, and our well-established employment unit, the Talent Team, has staff based with Coventry Business School who have an extensive network of employers with a wide range of internship possibilities (subject to competitive application, availability, meeting any applicable visa requirements and additional fees may apply). The employment unit also supports you with workshops and guidance on the various aspects of the employment process such as preparing your CV, interview practice and mock assessment centres.
Accepted applicants will normally hold an honours undergraduate degree (minimum 2:2) in a relevant academic discipline. Applicants with a degree in another discipline may be admitted after consideration on a case-by-case basis.
