The programme will provide students with a critical grounding in the dominant trends and new directions in the contemporary digital landscape, while analysing the key technological, social and cultural drivers of change in this area. It is a collaborative effort across two extremely successful departments, Digital Humanities (DDH) and Culture, Media and Creative Industries (CMCI). It will offer students a unique opportunity to benefit from the expertise of academics across both departments.

This highly interdisciplinary programme will introduce students from both technical and non-technical backgrounds to critical issues and debates within digital society, now and into the future. The programme will go beyond giving students a grounding in contemporary debates: via a series of concrete case studies and practice-based assignments it will challenge them to imagine digitally-mediated cultural, social and economic futures that are achievable, sustainable and ethical on a global scale. This MA will encourage students to imagine and future-cast not just better digital technology but also a better world. The programme will include content specifically on the digital future of South East Asia.
