Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) has a long and illustrious history dating back to 1785, with the establishment of the London Hospital Medical College - England’s first medical school. The university is a member of the University of London and is also a member of the prestigious Russell Group. QMUL is often ranked as one of the top 10 universities in the UK and the top 10% of universities in the world. It is renowned for its world-leading research, ranking 5th in the UK for the percentage of 3* and 4* research outputs (REF 2014). Nine former QMUL staff and students have won Nobel prizes. QMUL is also one of the most diverse of all the Russell Group universities.
