The School of Dental Sciences and COHR

We combine world-class clinical and research facilities with an open environment. Here you'll find scholars, clinicians and researchers working side-by-side. Our focus is on multidisciplinary translational research. We focus on work that is relevant to real life.
COHR has a particular focus on understanding molecular and cellular mechanisms. The aim is to translate these into clinical settings. Within COHR there is a Collaborating Centre for the World Health Organization for Nutrition and Oral Health. Research projects align to the Centre's main research themes:
COHR is involved in many industrial collaborations. We also work together with the Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit. With them, we provide planning and implementation of clinical trials in oral health.
