Amazing facilities and equipment stores and the most beautiful campus. Do feel a bit stuck at times as the area difficult to explore without a car. Oh and lecturers are INCREDIBLE.

The facilities are second to none and it is a fantastic place to develop the skill set needed to work in this industry. The opportunities to perform in real world environments and the trips to working studios are a great insight into the industry. The student support services all left around Christmas. I was in a time of need and I was going to apply for extenuating circumstances but there was no one to discuss this with or ask for support. My tutors were there but it’s not their job to provide support services. I ended up just putting myself under immense stress and this lead to burnout.

I really like the family sense at dBs. I walk in at the campus and there is always people to chat with, collaborate and share a nice time in general. I feel more bookable time on the main studios would be ideal during the week. As there are lessons is hard to get time in them in the middle of the week. More spaces like studio 3 would be a dream!

Amazing opportunities presented to us on a weekly basis, the professors are so passionate about their fields, and they always make time for students. Im amazed how they manage to so seamlessly juggle between all their commitments. But they're always there for us. The campus is great, beautiful and inspiring. I would say that the hyegine could be improved in some areas, the computers and mixing desks are rarely cleaned.. one can really tell. And the lectures and workshops always feel a little rushed.

Top notch music facilities. Music stores have thousands of pieces of music equipment to book out. Course staff are highly talented music professionals who also work in the industry. They are gold mines of information and highly talented educators. The uni and course is literally the top arts uni in the UK. There was some controversy over this as the Sunday Times does not have a separate category for arts uni's. I got hold of the table and manually compared each arts uni. I did the math ! And, yes Falmouth does come out on top and rightly so. You might be mistaken in thinking that Falmouth is some snoozy Cornish riviera backwater not up to the standards of international capitals like London, but in this case you'd be wrong ! Falmouth uni is a very high flying place with course staff regularly jetting around to conferences and events to stay up to date with the latest stuff. For example one of my lecturers was just going off to Germany. Any problems I've encountered often seem to be common to many uni's. For example the institutional culture can take some getting used to if you're not familiar with it. Awareness and decisions can get stuck in committees basically, but you just have to know how to shout up in the right way to get the heard. Also for some reason accomodation insists on using the atrocious "Circuit" laundry machines. A company that is widely denounced across all campuses that use it. Otherwise Falmouth uni lives up to the districts "Falifornia" reputation with innovative and culturally revolutionary research and events going on. An interesting place !
