The Social Sciences Foundation Year programme is designed to give you a solid understanding of key subjects in social sciences, preparing you for further study in Counselling and Psychotherapy or related fields. This foundation year is part of a four-year pathway that prepares you for your chosen social sciences course. Additionally, a limited number of places are available in our BSc Social Work programme for suitable students from this foundation year.Key areas of study include effective communication, study skills, and foundational subjects in social sciences. You will take modules such as sociology, criminology, social policy, and social care. These modules will help you explore inequalities related to gender, class, race, disability, and health, using various theories to understand social change and how societies address these issues and discrimination.This course is not open to international students.
