Work with us to produce internationally excellent research that benefits both policy practitioners and the academic community - and contribute to the political, economic, and social wellbeing of Europe.
The Sussex European Institute is one of the leading centres for research on contemporary European studies.
You will benefit from our large network of researchers and practitioners who supervise doctoral research and collaborate with us on various projects.
For a PhD, your research work makes a substantial original contribution to knowledge or understanding in your chosen field.
Degree requirements: You’re normally expected to have a master’s degree and an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree. Subject-specific requirements: Your qualification should be in contemporary European studies or a related subject area, but you may still be considered for the degree if you have a qualification in a different subject area. In certain circumstances, you may also be considered for the degree if you have other relevant professional qualifications or relevant research experience of equivalent standing.
