Construction management expertise is required across a range of professional disciplines, this comprehensive course issuing a technical, academic and vocational education which enables its graduates to enter myriad positions in the sector.

In line with the aims and objectives of professional accrediting bodies – the course itself accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) among others – you will be equipped with an understanding of key principles underpinning constriction projects, sourced from construction technology, law, business and finance roles and therefore transferrable to appropriate environments.

Opportunities to apply your gained knowledge and skills in industrial environments will be provided, preparing you to take on a series of roles and responsibilities in contemporary construction fields and paving the way for further postgraduate study. Options for specialisation and the ability to study on a part-time basis will allow you to build on desired strengths and resolve weaknesses, gaining confidence in your skills and applied knowledge via interactions with other construction disciplines. The aims of the construction management course are to enable you to:

gain the essential skills and knowledge of construction management, focusing on the technologies, law and management skills needed to deliver projects to professional and to quality standards.

develop transferable skills of team working, independent learning and decision-making and problem-solving

be exposed to and aware of current construction management issues and influences and how these affect construction managers.

enhance your skills in construction projects, management of people and resources, decision-making, leadership and project management skills.
