Learn and hone the skills in software development, networking, and cyber security that are in demand in the industry on our Computing degree at ARU Peterborough. Our employment-focused Computing degree is designed to equip you with a broad understanding of many computing principles and build skills in programming, database management, web development, and software engineering. This will enable you to explore which part of the diverse IT industry you want to kick-start your career in. You’ll explore various areas of computing, such as computer networks, cyber security, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. You'll also gain hands-on experience through internships, research opportunities and final year projects.You’ll spend lots of time in our dedicated computing suite, learning on industry-standard equipment and software on a course that we co-created with employers, so you can be confident that you’ll graduate with the attributes that are in demand within the sector. When you graduate from this course you'll have developed your powers of autonomous and analytical thinking, learnt the essential skills valued by employers in the IT sector, and have experienced multi-disciplinary team-working which mirrors real-world industry standards.

Five GCSE passes at grade 3 or D or above and evidence of two years post-GCSE study at Level 3. If you have achieved at least grade E in one A level, or equivalent, you are exempt from the two year post-GCSE study requirement, but you still have to meet the GCSE requirements. If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificate level of proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5 overall including 5.5 in each band/component.
