Software development, web development and cloud computing are emphasised on this programme. As a graduate, you will be skilled and knowledgeable in the technical aspects of web development and cloud computing. Your employment opportunities would be found either in small and medium-sized enterprises as web developers or working within a cloud infrastructure at the enterprise level.
Develop your understanding of key aspects of a range of concepts, principles and techniques associated with web application development, web service development and cloud computing, while you learn to analyse technologies applied to the solution of problems that can also be deployed to the cloud to meet real-world requirements.
The computing department has well-developed links with industry, which feed valuable high-level practical content into the programme. The inclusion of up-to-date content such as Node.js, Docker and REST Web Services gives student the opportunity to understand and apply the theoretical concepts studied in real contexts. The benefit for you is that such practical, real-world application will enhance your skills, and hence your employability, without sacrificing academic rigour.
Industrial links include DVLA, Digital Health and Care Wales, Sony, S8080, Circle IT and Tevel Cyber Corps.
