The purpose of the BSc in Computer Science is to offer a route into employment or further HE studies. This 1 year top up course seeks to offer a route into the general computer science related field. Focussing on theoretical and managerial skills required for either a career in computer science or to provide the basis for further study at post graduate level. The programme has been designed by New College Swindon and the University of Gloucestershire. Given the nature of local industry, there is an enhanced need for computing professionals in the geographical area.All assessments have been tailored to reflect current trends in computing related industries and are regularly reviewed by both the UoG and External Examination boards. The BSc in Computer Science offers an academic progression route for students engaged in Higher National or foundation degree courses. Additionally, it offers an academic route for those who have followed a more vocational form of study such as BTEC or T Level. It also provides a bridge between FE and further HE studies at higher levels and can form a good route into employment.
