Gain the technical skills needed to break into the high-demand industry of computer science with this conversion degree. The MSc programme is accredited by the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, for the purposes of meeting the further learning academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional. What is computer science?Computer science is the study of computers and technology, as well as their applications in our day-to-day lives. Any piece of technology you use in your daily life is the result of the work of dedicated computer scientists who research, develop and improve ICT equipment for use in all kinds of sectors across the world. From engineers working on algorithmic processes, technicians working with computational machines, and software developers coding digital experiences, there are all kinds of computer science jobs. A computer science degree can fast-track you onto your chosen career path, giving you skills that can last you across a lifetime of computer science. About the programme: Designed for students from a non-computing background, this programme explores the fundamentals of computer science and software development. You will build your knowledge of key trends and themes within the field, while expanding your horizons with specialist modules in artificial intelligence. Career prospects: As technology increasingly impacts all areas of modern life, the demand for qualified computing professionals grows. Upon completion of your programme, you will be prepared to take on roles such as software engineer, machine learning practitioner, big data analyst, network administrator, database manager, IT consultant, AI developer, research scientist and information strategy manager. An Executive Scholarship of 15% is available for our January 2026 intake.
