Introduction
Extend your computer science expertise by developing industry-level skills in designing and implementing IT solutions for clients worldwide. Take a work placement and gain valuable industry experience. Our MSc in Computer Science covers all aspects of technologies and user environments, giving you the industry-level skills to create and manage IT solutions. Study on our Cambridge campus and gain practical experience in our advanced computing laboratories. You’ll set up infrastructure and create database applications, multimedia tools, browsers and server architecture. Take up a placement option and gain key employability skills as you apply your knowledge in a real-life industry setting.
Our Masters degree will keep you up-to-date with the latest topics and developments in areas such as web applications and e-business engineering. By the end of this postgraduate course in computer science you’ll have experience covering the full life cycle of a web application and be able to apply this knowledge to the development of any type of software application, whether mobile, cloud or standalone. As you create and manage IT solutions you’ll learn how to apply hardware and software technology to complex user requirements and ensure their systems are secure. You’ll diagnose problems and respond to operational challenges. You’ll be able to undertake in-depth research and - if you already have business connections - this is a great opportunity to start working on a real-life project, either with a company or as preparation for a job straight after graduation. As a postgraduate student at ARU you’ll benefit from our industry links. These ensure that we help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to become expert in emerging and important technologies.
How you'll be assessed
We’ll assess the application of your technical knowledge through written assignments, software projects, presentations, and a dissertation module.
