University of Greenwich

The Architecture is great! Tutors are friendly but the mode of teaching via video and having us come to the labs prepared is not good. We 1st years are overwhelmed

The university's location is also an advantage, as it is situated in one of the most beautiful and historic areas of London, with easy access to transport links, making it convenient for students to explore the city. In summary, the University of Greenwich is considered an excellent place to study due to its excellent academic programs, supportive faculty and staff, diverse student community, and a vibrant campus life. However, some improvements could be made to enhance the quality of the university's facilities and resources.

I chose to study at the University of Greenwich because it offered exactly what I was looking for — a combination of strong academic programs, a beautiful learning environment, and great international support. The university has a really good reputation for quality teaching and practical learning, which was important to me because I didn’t just want theory; I wanted real-world experience too. Another reason I picked Greenwich is its location. The campus is stunning, with historic buildings right by the River Thames, and it’s close to central London. That means I get to enjoy a peaceful study environment while still having access to everything London has to offer — internships, cultural events, and job opportunities. I also liked that Greenwich is very diverse and welcoming. There are students from all over the world, so I’ve been able to make friends from different backgrounds and learn about different cultures. The university provides lots of support for international students, which made it easier for me to adjust to studying abroad

There could have been more activities as I feel like this university's social life isn't good. It also can be tricky to reach accommodations team to ask questions and as a student living in UoG halls, much more could have been improved. For example I am having issues with my flatmates on cleanliness and I have reported this however the RA's came for a check on the day that cleaner comes and therefore the flat was clean. They should know this and in the end nothing was done. I have heard from friends in other unis that staff do inspections regularly rather than near the end of a term like they do in Greenwich and do write a report if there is an issue with the bins or the dishes. Another issue with accommodations was to apply for accom next year the server almost went down as many people were trying to access it and some people couldnt get a place for next year leaving them in a tricky situation. It just could have been managed more. In terms of cleanliness in campus toilets could be improved. In lectures I have heard from previous students and current students in different majors that lecture topics are outdated. As I do Computer Science the topics should be updated as this is a field that is improving and evolving and there was no need for them to teach us systems that were being used in 90's - 2000s as this helps us with nothing in the future.

I like this place only hassle is location i live an hr away by bus and train so annoying to memorise sched for them but other than that it is great.

One of the best aspect of the university is the support we get as computer science students is the support we get from our lecturers and tutors. They're always trying to get to do well not just in the courseworks but also whilst preparing for job interviews. There's also many part time jobs within the university that are very flexible and really helpful. One of the worst aspects would be the lack of active societies. There is few that are constantly hosting events and activities, but not many related to the course we are studying for example.
