The best thing about NTU is the fantastic support from the staff and tutors; everyone is friendly and willing to help with whatever you need. I love my course and the tutors I have, I'm really happy I decided to go to the course because I feel like I wouldn't be able to experience industry-leading education like this anywhere else. The school facilities are well kept and in good condition, the building I study in (Waverley) is particularly beautiful. The student living accommodations could be better, but the uni halls staff is always willing to help when they can. I love being located in the city centre of Nottingham, it makes everything seem so accessible, there's so much to explore in the town outside of uni. There are so many different study spots on and off campus, the Boots library in particular has a really lovely rooftop garden .

I started university being completely unsure of myself and future, NTU has given me the opportunity to express myself academically and personally through so many opportunities such as societies, work experience, careers events, and student support, I genuinely couldn’t have picked a better university,I always knew there was someone that could help me, with my work to get the most out of my experience:)

Studying filmmaking at my university has been an incredible experience, offering both theoretical and practical knowledge. The curriculum is well-structured, providing deep insights into film theory, history, and emerging cinematic trends. I have had the chance to explore new theoretical perspectives that challenge traditional storytelling methods, which has greatly enriched my understanding of cinema. One of the best aspects of my university is the access to state-of-the-art technical facilities. The recently built studios are fully equipped with professional-grade cameras, lighting, and sound equipment, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools. This has been particularly helpful for developing my technical skills and experimenting with different filmmaking techniques. Beyond the academic and technical aspects, the university provides excellent networking opportunities. There are regular industry events, guest lectures, and workshops where students can connect with professionals and peers, which is crucial for building a career in the film industry. The city itself adds to the experience—it’s vibrant, beautiful, and filled with creative energy. The people here are open-minded, friendly, and always up for meaningful conversations, making it a great place to live and study.

Sometimes timetables are weirdly placed so lessons happen directly after another in completely different buildings. The rooms I've been in are very nice

The university is in an easy and accessible location with large and varied creative facilities for many different types of media. The staff and lecturers are amazing and will go out of their way to help you. There does need to be an improvement on student support and student health, they aren’t very thorough with their assessments.
