Course overview
The level 7 programme builds upon the past operational knowledge and experience of
managers by focusing on the more strategic issues of management within an organisation.
The programme is intended for the middle to senior manager who have the authority and personal inspiration to translate organisational strategy into effective operational performance. It is equally valuable for the person who aspires to such a role, by helping them to gain the knowledge and understanding necessary to deliver those outcomes.
How will I be assessed?
One 3,000 word assignment, to be submitted after the taught session.
DELIVERY INFORMATION
Workshops are held fortnightly on a Thursday evening, 18.00-21.00. Due to the nature of the qualification flexible start dates are available throughout the year. In addition you are expected to commit at least one hour study per evening, a minimum of 52 hours over the duration of the course. The course is supported by online materials via our Virtual Learning Environment and may be supplemented by online delivery.
What can I do next
You can study further units to complete the CMI Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership which is then your first step towards completing a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership or an MBA. Local providers are the University of Worcester and Birmingham City University.
Successful completion can lead to the Chartered Manager Status, further information can be obtained from the CMI website.
It is expected that you will hold a Level 5 CMI or similar qualification. However, we are able to take into account your level of experience in lieu of formal qualifications and this is normally established at interview. The College has a commitment to widening participation in Higher Education, and will therefore give careful consideration to prior experiential learning, non-traditional qualifications and qualifications obtained outside of the United Kingdom.
