This well-established and highly competitive MSc provides specialist training in the basic scientific principles of modern neuroscience, and in the application of these principles to the understanding of a wide variety of neurological disorders. The Clinical Neuroscience MSc is a pioneering Master's programme taught at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. UCL is the top-ranked university in the UK for research power in Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience according to the UK’s Research Excellence Framework 2021.On this programme you will cover the fundamental cellular, molecular, genetic and systems level basis of both common and unusual neurological disease. It will relate the underlying pathophysiology to behavioural (or clinical) manifestations of neurological disease and will identify potential therapeutic targets that can halt or even reverse disease progression, or ameliorate disabling symptoms.
A minimum of an upper second-class UK Bachelor's degree in an appropriate subject (neuroscience or related biological science e.g. physiology, psychology, pharmacology, biochemistry; or a medical degree from a UK university), Bachelor's degree in a profession allied to medicine (e.g. nursing, physiotherapy, occupational health) or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard is required.
