Rooted in workplace learning, our course is designed to encourage you to make critical and creative connections between your own – and your students’ – practice and theoretical perspectives on teaching, learning and assessment.

Whether you're from clinical settings or Higher Education institutions, this course will develop your understanding of the education and assessment of the next generation of clinical practitioners.

With us, you will:

debate and discuss the central themes and issues in clinical education

explore the differences between clinical and educational research

undertake introductory research training in educational research

design and conduct small-scale empirical research on a topic relevant to the clinical education workplace.

Entry requirements

A bachelor (hons) degree in a health-related subject with at least a 2:2. Entry on the appropriate professional register Students who complete the MEd and progress onto the PGDip at Leeds may have completed a PG Cert in Clinical/Medical/Healthcare Professional Education elsewhere at another university. For this we use the APL process. It is a course requirement that you be working in a clinical or educational setting with the opportunity to engage in some form of teaching, training, or mentoring.
