There are a number of attractions to studying for a postgraduate degree in Classics at Glasgow, from the very well-stocked University Library, to the Hunterian Museum (with its notably fine coin collection), to a major centre in humanities computing. There are a number of attractions to studying for a postgraduate degree in Classics at Glasgow, from the very well-stocked University Library, to the Hunterian Museum (with its notably fine coin collection), to a major centre in humanities computing. We offer supervision in a range of subject areas related to the research activities and interests of our academic staff. All members of staff are happy to discuss potential research projects at any time. We have a dedicated postgraduate study space, which makes available an extensive research collection, now augmented by a bequest from the late Professor Douglas MacDowell. Postgraduates play a full role in the research culture of the subject, with a regular programme of seminars, workshops and reading groups. Our College of Arts Graduate School creates a productive and interdisciplinary collegiate environment for all of our research students. We offer a range of services, courses and skills development opportunities for research students. The College of Arts is home to a vibrant and diverse community of students enrolled on taught masters and research programmes within a stimulating intellectual and cultural environment. Across every school and subject area the college is home to world-leading and agenda-setting research.Our Degree of Master of Letters (Research) requires you to undertake a postgraduate course of special study and research that represents a distinct contribution to knowledge.
