You’ll study the fundamental principles of statics, dynamics, materials, geotechnics, and hydraulics, with design, construction, business, and sustainability considerations.In your second and third year, you'll take part in our problem-based learning initiative, EnABLE (Engineering in an Activity Based Learning Environment). This course will provide you with flexibility in your choice of engineering career pathways after graduation. From mega infrastructure to water transfer schemes, you’ll have the chance to make a difference in a way that is important to you.Within our civil engineering subject area, our degree programmes share the same second year of study, so you can leave your options open until the start of your third year.In your fourth year, you can secure an industrial placement in the UK or abroad. In your final year, you’ll work on a selected individual research/design project with the support of your academic supervisor.This degree will set you up to leave university with the skills you need to communicate effectively, manage projects, and work in a professional team.
