Take a leading role in shaping the future of our world with our MEng Civil Engineering. Prepare for an exciting career as an engineer and open up a world of opportunities. You’ll learn how to design and build infrastructure like bridges, road links and buildings. Protect our communities from the impact of climate change with adaptive and resilient engineering, and become a leader in the industry. This degree programme was accredited in 2017 by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Permanent Way Institution on behalf of the Engineering Council. For the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Combining state-of-the-art technology with fundamental engineering, this programme will develop your knowledge and skills to tackle global challenges. With a Design Centre and the Makerspace, you’ll be able to apply your new skills in practical facilities. Enjoy working alongside students from other engineering disciplines, so you graduate with interdisciplinary experience. In your final year you’ll deepen your knowledge with a project that can be linked to industry. From construction and infrastructure to energy and climate resilience, you’ll be ready for roles in a broad range of fields. Get ready for an exciting future using your expertise as a Civil Engineer. Your degree will begin mostly with examinations, before shifting to continuous assessment in project work during later years. This will allow you to specialise after undertaking a thorough foundation of engineering principles at the start of your studies. You'll receive plenty of feedback to help you progress, ranging from written feedback on your assessments to class feedback sessions and discussions with your tutor. The feedback will highlight the positives of your work as well as any areas that need more attention.
