Studied part-time over three years, the Foundation Degree aims to give you a firm grounding in children's and young people's services. For the duration of the course, students must be working for a least 16 hours per week within the sector, this can be paid or voluntary.The Foundation Degree in Children & Young People fall into two pathways:- Early Years Pathway ( Part Time)The Early year's Pathway is a three-year course aimed at individuals who have a keen interest in early years education and who have at least one year of experience working with children aged 0-8 years. This course is ideal for practitioners wanting to study a Higher Education course whilst actively working in the industry. - Teaching Assistant Pathway (Part Time )This course is designed for experienced teaching assistants who want to develop their professional knowledge and understanding through a combination of theoretical and practical study. Whichever pathway you choose, this programme will develop you as a confident, knowledgeable and effective practitioner. your academic study will be reflected in your practical work, and your working environment will be used for projects, activities and research.
