This programme is aimed at professionals involved in the children and young people’s workforce in a wide range of roles. Each stage of the Professional Doctorate (Prof Doc) has been designed to develop high-level skills of direct relevance to the world of work; students will interrogate research, critique theory and conduct robust research connected to their occupation.
Because it has been built around the needs of working people, the programme is delivered flexibly through a mixture of face-to-face and online learning. It can be studied through the medium of Welsh or English.
It shares several modules with its sibling qualification Children’s, Young People’s and Community’s Services (MA).
This programme is specifically aimed at those involved in the children’s and young people’s workforce in a wide range of occupations and specialisations. For example:

You should have at least two years' of professional experience in a field related to the Prof Doc before applying. Also see this course's sibling qualification, the Children's, Young People's and Community's Services (MA), which accepts students who have recently completed their undergraduate degree. An overall English Language level equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no lower than 5.5 in reading writing, listening and speaking. TOEFL iBT Reading minimum 18, Listening minimum 17, Writing minimum 17, Speaking Minimum 20, TOEFL MyBest scores not accepted.
