This Children and Young People PhD / PhD by Published Works programme offers an excellent route to expand your knowledge and research skills. We aim to create an environment which promotes internationally excellent research that has a positive impact on both practice and policy. Our Centre for Education and Research is passionate about children and young people and their place in our communities. So, if you are a graduate holding a Masters in any subject and/or have experience of working in formal, informal, or non-formal education, this might be the research area for you. Successful defence of their final thesis provides our research students with a Doctor of Philosophy which is the highest qualification that any UK university can award and offer an excellent opportunity to move into higher management and research positions within Education and aligned fields. Find more about the Centre for Education and Research.
Applicants are generally required to have a Masters from a UK university or overseas equivalent, in a relevant discipline (though there is some flexibility within this e.g., for students on an individual basis who have lower-level qualifications or qualifications in a different subject area, but relevant experience). During the application process all suitable candidates will be asked to attend an interview.
