Friendly people. Excellent support from staff and fellow students. Great practical & computer lab facilities. On campus gym is fantastic and very cheap. Library is amazing; warm. bright, open 24hours for exams, serves hot food, has starbucks, drinks & food machines. Has an LGBT society, Strathclyde Women's Action Network and groups for many different nationalities to find people who observe similar customs (and are very welcoming of people who wish to learn more about different cultures). Fantastic University of Strathclyde Students Association which every year has an excellent president voted for by fellow students. The Union has many floors with theme nights, all night parties, debating, plays by the ReAct theatre group, ceilidhs, football on the big screens, drink promos & so much more. I lived in halls for 2 years and was a residence assistant, the accommodation is great and any issues raised are dealt with promptly. The RA's are on call from 5pm to 8am, and there is a night porter on call all night (with contact to the security team). Any student can call Nightline (similar to Childline or Silverline but for students). Each department also has multiple people that you can email if you need support or assistance. The university also has a disability support centre and can arrange for extra time in exams, different coloured paper, notes written in different fonts etc The university also has counselling support for students, you can get weekly counselling sessions lasting an hour each.
