This course is primarily designed for candidates who have not studied the prerequisite subjects required for first-year entry, have not met the expected entrance requirements due to adverse circumstances or sporting commitments, or are mature students returning to education or care leavers.Loughborough University’s Foundation Studies programme supports a diverse range of students in achieving their university ambitions. The streamed structure of the programme allows students to progress onto one of several courses within their selected stream, giving them additional time to decide which pathway is best suited to their interests and goals.The foundation programme is particularly suitable for:Students who have not studied the prerequisite subjects needed for first-year entry into their chosen course;Students who did not meet the entrance requirements due to extenuating circumstances (such as illness or caring responsibilities);Mature students or care leavers;Elite-level athletes who must balance academic commitments with high-level sporting competition.Students enrolled in the course are full members of the University, with access to the Students’ Union, clubs, societies, sports facilities, and all student support services—experiencing the outstanding student life Loughborough University is known for.
